The 1st World JOKGU Championships will be a thrilling and competitive event, bringing together 12 nations from 2 continents to compete in South Korea between the 24th and 28th of August 2023. The participating countries include Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Korea Republic, Iraq, Romania, Bulgaria, Ireland, Pakistan, Laos, Thailand, and Nepal. It promises to be an exciting display of skill and sportsmanship at the Cultural Gymnasium in Gangwon do.
The tournament will utilize a unique playing system with 4 groups formed through a draw, each containing 3 teams. This setup ensures fair competition and guarantees that every team will have the opportunity to showcase their abilities on the jokgu court.
As the teams battle it out on the jokgu court, they will be vying for the prestigious title of The 1st Jokgu World Champion and the accompanying prizes. The rewards for the top-performing teams are enticing: the 1st-place team will be awarded an impressive prize of 7040 €, while the 2nd place will take home 3519 €. The 3rd place winner will receive 1407 € for their efforts. Even teams that secure positions between 4th and 8th will not leave empty-handed, as they will be rewarded with 700 € each.
