On Saturday, December 10th, history was made as Blokers Łódź claimed the Polish championship in triples, adding to their previously won titles in singles and doubles. With this triumphant victory, they secured the elusive triple crown and ended the season on a resounding high.
The formidable team of Blokers Łódź, comprising talented players Michał Kłosiński, Marcin Skrydalewicz, Łukasz Fryczak, Mateusz Spochaczyk, and Przemek Kulik, faced off against Top Spin Wójcin’s skilled lineup of Marcin Gębicki, Mateusz Śliwka, and Mariusz Koćmin in the thrilling final. This marked the third final clash this year between the players from Łódź and Wójcin, with Blokers proving their dominance yet again by securing a confident victory of 11:4, 11:4.
The battle for the bronze medals was equally intense, with Futnet Kleczew emerging victorious after a closely contested three-set duel against the team of Drop Shot Aleksandrów for the third place.
Throughout the championship, the level of futnet displayed by all teams was exceptionally high, showcasing the immense talent and dedication of the players.
Michał Kłosiński, the triple Polish champion in 2022, reflected on the intense season. It all began in March when they commenced preparations for the Men’s World Championships, which took place in early November in Prague. The national team’s performance at the Futnet World Championship yielded good results, achieving the best-ever 7th place in doubles in Polish history. Moreover, at the UNIF Club World Cup in Modřice, Blokers Łódź secured an impressive 4th place finish.
This season held a special significance as it marked the first time in Polish championship history that a full series of tournaments in all three disciplines was played, adding to the excitement and competitiveness of the sport.
Apart from the joy of securing the triple crown, Michał Kłosiński expressed his delight in witnessing the remarkable progress and development of players from other clubs. Many of these talented individuals have already become vital assets to the Polish national team, and the emergence of promising young players bodes well for the future of Polish Futnet.
As the season came to a close, Blokers Łódź stood tall as champions in multiple disciplines, leaving an indelible mark on the sport and inspiring future generations to excel in the world of futnet.
